Content development

Mathematics education

Nikki M Group writes and develops effective, engaging mathematics content for Australian and international curricula, including:

  • Australia (F–12)
  • United Kingdom (1–13)
  • North America (K–12).

Writing and developing new content

We create new content and work with publishers to:

  • create lesson plans and teacher resources to scaffold students’ mathematical understanding, fluency, reasoning and problem-solving skills
  • incorporate hands-on manipulatives and interactive tools
  • generate preliminary material (front matter), which provides an overview of content and rationale to support both teachers and students
  • create end matter, such as an index, appendix or glossary
  • add value and depth to manuscripts by collaborating with authors to fulfil all requirements of the brief.

Developing mathematics content that optimises learning outcomes.

Preparing manuscripts

We prepare author manuscripts for editorial and creative teams by:

  • formatting text into workable and styled templates
  • creating artwork briefs for photographs, illustrations, tables, charts and graphs
  • producing blackline masters to suit content and style guides.

Scope and sequence

We can work with a scope and sequence of a series to:

  • develop tables linking curriculum standards, codes and descriptors to content in past, current and future grades, or to key stages
  • reference all lessons to the scope and sequence, learning outcomes, ‘I can …’ statements and key ideas
  • create a ‘gap analysis’ of an existing series that is to be modified for a new curriculum or different jurisdiction.
